Help us make history! Here is how you can count towards the record!
This year Jumpstart has made it easier than ever to count for the world record! A few simple steps will ensure you count for the record with no paperwork necessary.
Step 1: Pledge to Read for the Record! Pledging to read requires you to fill out a simple online form. By pledging to read, you commit to reading to at least one child in your life on October 8 and to receive campaign updates via email.
Step 2: Visit our Plan Your Event Page to access all of the tools and resources you will need to hold your Read for the Record event - large or small!
Step 3: Post your event on the Event Builder/Finder! Use this tool to invite guests to your event!
Step 4: Return to the campaign website on or after October 8th and enter the number of children who read at your event. Remember, an event can be as small as ONE child reading a book at home with an adult. You can enter your individual reading event separately, of if you are from a larger group, one event leader can report all of your participants together.
For example, if you are from ABC School, each teacher can individually pledge to read and then report the number of readers in their classroom, or the principal or event lead can report all of the participants at ABC School as one large group.
Please note: Jumpstart does not require you to submit ANY paperwork for this year's campaign. This includes, but is not limited to, Event Sign-In sheets and Witness Verification forms. These documents have been required in the past and will not be accepted this year. Please DO NOT send any paperwork to any Jumpstart related address!
Join forces with us to set a world record: October 8, 2009 will be here before you know it!
