After many years of helping young children, we have created lists of our favorite and most frequently recommended books.

• Books for the School Year and for the Summer  - especially good for children going to school for the first time or entering kindergarten.
• Picture and Predictable Books - offer children the opportunity to tell the story using pictures to develop important creative skills.
• Multicultural and Gender-Bender Books - show children what the world might look like through others' eyes and allow them to begin constructing their own sense of themselves and the world.
• Books to Help Foster Social and Emotional Development - how to get along with others, how to problem solve, how to tell others what you like and what you need are all important skills preschool aged children can develop.
• Poetry, Song and Picture Books - a fun and engaging way to build their speaking and listening skills, which are important for literacy development.
