We are so excited at Redbook to be a media partner of Jumpstart’s Read for the Record. This year is our first time participating in this inspiring campaign, and we look forward to many more years of working together to help ensure that every child enters school prepared to succeed.



Our magazine’s mission is to speak to all sides of the modern woman, including her sense of community and philanthropy, and through this campaign we can empower women across the country to engage in a fun day of service with their children while giving back to those less fortunate.

Jumpstart is working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. The sad fact is that children from low-income families are hit the hardest by America's school readiness crisis.  Consider these facts:

- Children from low-income communities typically enter kindergarten with one fourth the vocabulary of their middle-income peers.

- A child’s reading level in 1st grade is one of the best predictors of his/her subsequent performance in 10th grade

Jumpstart delivers on the potential of our youngest citizens, and we need your help to bring our intensive mentoring program, as well as Jumpstart’s Read for the Record, to tens of thousands of children who will miss out.
